VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
This is a small but easy one! The automatic transcripts make a few mistakes, especially with spellings of names and places. We need people willing to listen to the interviews and edit the transcripts to accurately reflect the conversation.
Help us schedule more interviews! Contact your bookseller network and get them on our interview schedule. The more participation the better! A comprehensive and robust collection tells a complete story, and will be more treasured by booksellers and researchers alike.
Do you have audio editing experience and access to a program like Adobe Audition? We could really use your help! The interviews often need to be edited for pauses, external noises, sound levels, and even “off the record” comments.
Are you a social media guru? We could use help with creating and posting content to our Instagram and Facebook pages, as well as engaging with our followers.
Do you like learning about other booksellers experiences? We could use more interviewers! All you need is access to voice recording as an .mp3 file (most cell phones will do!) Or some libraries let you check out more professional digital recorders. Interview your bookseller colleagues, your mentor…anyone who is a bookseller or former bookseller. Basic training instruction will be provided.
